Jin

Jin is a lone swordsman who wanders from place to place, armed only with his blade and the clothes on his back. Through unknown circumstances, he came to possess the Magatama of Genma, also known as the Eye of Genma, a magical artifact imbued with the essence of the Divine Dragon, Genma. Jin is often silent, but an honest and noble warrior, always willing to help those in need. He despises the demons of Makai, cursing their evil ways, and swears to cut them down if they harm others.

Debut: Jin: In a Flash of Blades

Abilities: Agility, Martial Arts, Swordsmanship, Endurance, Stamina.

Augus

Augus is Jin’s sensei, who taught him the ways of combat and swordsmanship. While he always hailed Jin as one of his best students, he also considered him lazy for leaving before completing his training. Befitting his advanced age, he has wisdom and skill far greater than those of most men, and even of trained warriors. Augus knows Jin is traveling with the Eye of Genma and seeks to have his student resume training to help combat the rogues and demons who will come after it.

Augus is a true master swordsman whose skill with the blade is respected and feared by humans and demons alike. Among other skills, Augus has mastered the Fatal Draw, a mighty sword technique that can slay enemies with one strike.

Augus owns the Shining Grace, one of the six Legendary Blades.

Kitetsu (鬼徹)

(鬼 Ki = Demon/Oni/Orge) and (徹 Tetsu = Cut/Pierce/Penetrate/Split/Stab, can also mean Iron)

Kitetsu, the Shadow Slayer, is a demon of the Makai and one of Jin’s enemies. He encountered Jin in the past, wanting the Eye of Genma to increase his power. He gained a reputation for his ability to move through the shadows and kill his targets with his arm-mounted sickle. Kitetsu is confident in his fighting abilities and mocks humans for their weaknesses.

Entei (炎帝)

Entei (炎帝):  炎 (En = Flame) (Can alternately be read as honō) and 帝 (Tei = Emperor)

Entei, the Master of the Flame, is a demon of the Makai. He is a powerful humanoid dragon demon, infamous for his ferocity in battle and for incinerating entire armies with his mastery of fire. Like most demons, Entei looks down on humans for their weaknesses. He is ruthless in combat, utilizing his powers extensively. Also, like other demons, Entei seeks the Eye of Genma to increase his power.

Entei is one of the stronger demons of the Makai. He possesses a refined healing factor and can access a state where his full power is realized, gaining dragon wings and markings on his body, as well as more potent fire abilities.

Shimotora (霜虎)

霜 (Shimo = Frost) and 虎 (Tora = Tiger)

Shimotora, The Claw of the Ice, is a demon of the Makai. He is a humanoid ice-tiger demon feared for his strength, combat skills, and ice abilities. He is also infamous for his superhuman speed, which allows him to dash off in a quick burst as if he had disappeared. Like his partner, Entei, Shimotora is known to be a scourge on the battlefield, laying waste to entire armies. Alongside Entei, Shimotora looks down on humankind and seeks the Eye of Genma to increase his power.

Like Entei, Shimotora is one of the stronger demons of the Makai, possessing a refined healing factor and the ability to access his full power. He becomes a tall, muscular tiger-human hybrid with ice armor forming over parts of his body, and gains more destructive ice abilities.

Ryūō (竜王)

竜 (Ryū = Dragon) and 王 (Ō = King)

Ryūō, also known as Kaen Ryūō (火炎竜王, meaning “Flame Dragon King”), is a demon of the Makai. He hails from the same race as Entei, a humanoid dragon demon, but taller with more muscle tone. Ryūō is a Higher Demon, a class of demons far more potent than their regular brethren. A level-headed warrior, he is respected and feared for his mastery of fire and the sword. In fact, he is the one who trained Entei to master his abilities. While most demons belittle humans, Ryūō knows not to underestimate them. He understands they have survived so long because of their resourcefulness and determination.

Ryūō is part of a band of demons who seek the Eye of Genma to conquer the land.

Goro (ごろ)

ごろ(Goro = comes from Gorogoro, the Japanese onomatopoeia for the rumbling of thunder)

Goro of the Dreaded Lightning is a demon of the Makai. Goro is a Higher Demon, much like Ryūō. He relishes combat but isn’t consumed by his enjoyment of battle. Like many demons, he seeks the Eye of Genma for power but isn’t quick to go after it without a plan. He sees human warriors as foolish for challenging a demon’s powers, but is warned by Ryūō not to underestimate them.

Goro doesn’t rely on weapons. Instead, he uses his own combat skills and elemental abilities, believing the true pleasure of battle is experienced through one’s fists.

Goro is part of Ryūō’s band of demons who seek the Eye of Genma to conquer the land.
